After 17 wild and exhilarating years at Dish Osteria and Bar, we have decided it’s time to take a sabbatical. The last night of service before our break will be Saturday April 22, 2017, about a month from now. Our time away from Dish will allow us to catch our breath and dedicate ourselves further to our passion for food, which will lead to our next chapter.
We are forever grateful to our customers who have supported us over the years. You have shared with us so many important moments and contributed to making Dish what it has become. A place that has not only been a restaurant and bar where guests come to enjoy a dining experience, but also a place where many of you have kept coming to see familiar faces, share your stories, engage with new comers, and make new friends. We met many of you when you were barely legal to drink, and now you’re asking us for high chairs. There have been so many stories that go beyond the dining experience in and of itself, too many to tell on these pages. We will miss you all so much and in making this decision, we realize even more how much of a family you have been to us.
We have immense appreciation for our staff, past and present. Their hard work and dedication in providing warm hospitality and consistently delicious food to our customers over the years cannot be overlooked. The many testimonials about their professionalism are evidence of their contributions to our collective success.
We would also love to express our appreciation to the people who live and work on the South Side. Venues such as City Theater, the Rex Theater, Club Café and many others have been a tremendous support to Dish. We are so proud to be part of the South Side and we are sure in one way or another we will continue to do so in the near future.
It is our hope that by giving ample notice you will have the opportunity to come in over the course of the next month and cherish the memories of the past with all of us at Dish. We are just taking a break, and once we come back, you will hear from us. We will do our best to keep you posted along the way.
With much love and appreciation,
The Savoia Family
